Studio Kite was commissioned to reproduce Rayner Hoff’s much loved Anzac Soldiers and two 5 metre long bas relief panels. We had scanned data to work from, however, the sculptures had been compromised due years of weather and poor repairs. Studying original photographs, we sharpened the scanned data before sending the files to our printers. Our monster 3D printer, CADzilla, created all the larger than life figures. The sculptures were then tidied up and a water based masonry coating was applied. To complete the bas relief panels, we 3d printed thirty 450mm x 450mm sections. These sections were meticulously joined and a massive silicone mould was made. The panels were cast in a marble resin composite.
