Vic the Koala was created for Qantas.
Modelled off a real koala and designed to be intercut. Vic was so good that the real koala was never used. Vic has 35 motors in his head alone, the lip sync was programmed to a pre-recorded voice over. His facial features were controlled by a team of puppeteers with radio control units and his limbs were rod puppeted.
Vic starred in a multitude of national and international T.V. commercials and stills.
Studio Kite also built a series of Mad Max style Koala for The CommonWealth Bank TVC.
Studio Kite also built two human size Koala costumes and a baby Koala puppet for a Natural Gas TVC directed by Vincent Ward.
The Giant Tomboy marionette was created for the Korean company Tomboy Clothing in conjunction with Leo Productions in Sydney.
Terra, the Giant Tomboy was designed, engineered, fabricated and puppeteered by Studio Kite.
She was 3D modeled, machined out of polystyrene and hard coated with polyurethane. She was then scene painted to look like wood, Her facial features and head movements were animatronic and the body was puppeteered with ropes and pulleys.
Bundy bear was created by Leo Burnett Advertising as the mascot for Bunderburg Rum. Bundy is a fair dinkum Australian bloke.
Studio Kite made the Bundy Bear for over a decade.
We provided the talent as well as the puppeteers ensuring that Bundy's much loved persona stayed consistent.
The facial features were radio controlled servos and the lip synching was prerecorded and computer controlled.
These creatures were engineered and fabricated for the film 'Anaconda II'.
